These restrictions, coupled with the emergence of deceptive technologies like deepfakes, have led to the proliferation of fake news and a widespread distrust of the internet. As a result, people are increasingly using the internet for entertainment purposes.
This phenomenon is even more pronounced in underdeveloped regions. The development of mobile internet and social networks has propelled two-thirds of the global population into the era of information explosion. However, while entertainment content has successfully ridden the wave of mobile internet, the right to equal access to information has not been realized, and a significant amount of educational resources are underutilized. The public remains indifferent to political issues, globalization, and climate change compared to accessing free dance videos and music.
Blockchain was initially applied to democratize finance, and it has the potential to facilitate wider information flow and circumvent censorship. One project utilizes this technology, along with other cutting-edge technologies, to achieve this goal and promote the healthy flow of news and information.
Using AI for information curation and dissemination
REVOX.AI is a permissionless ecosystem focused on decentralized application innovation and online content indexing. Previously known as ReadON, the project has evolved into an on-chain modular AI network based on blockchain to facilitate equal access to information.
